Invite a teammate
Add a member of your firm's staff by email, and walk them through accepting the invitation.
Who this is for: owners and managers who add staff to the firm.
Steps
- Open the Team page and start a new invitation.
- Enter the person's email address and choose their role, manager or employee.
- Send the invitation. The teammate receives an email with a link to accept.
- The teammate opens the link, sets their name, a password, and their interface language.
- Once they accept, they are signed in and taken to the dashboard. They now appear on your Team page with the role you chose.
Role variations
- As an employee: you cannot invite teammates. Only owners and managers can.
- You can invite someone as a manager or an employee. You cannot invite someone as an owner.
What can go wrong
- The link expires. An invitation is good for 7 days after you send it. A link that has expired, or that has already been used, will not work. Send a fresh invitation if that happens.
- The email is already in use. If the email already belongs to a member of your firm, or already has a pending invitation, you cannot send another one to it. If the email is already registered as an account, the teammate cannot accept the invitation.
- You have reached your seat limit. If your plan's included seats are full, you must upgrade before you can add another person.
Limits
- Your plan caps how many people can be on your team.
- Adding someone beyond your plan's included seats may add a billed seat.
